I don’t think my body clock has kicked in yet, it’s 3am and I’m wide awake (that’s 9am UK time)! I can hear the distant horns blowing on the trains as they trundle through and leave town. The gym opens at 5.30am, so I’m going to go and start to get back into some sort of routine with my training.
The gym was good, and although it doesn’t look like it, it’ll get me back into shape.
My friend Jake picked me up just after 8 am, and we have a couple of hours catching up. Jake was my boss when we worked at Derby County football club, and we’ve not seen each other for the past 4 years. He briefly shows me around the offices where he and his staff work; and invites me to the event the football club is holding this afternoon in town.
While I’m back at my hotel, I see Robbie Keane and the LA Galaxy players who are staying in the same hotel as me. As quickly as I see them, they are off training for tomorrow’s game against Sporting Kansas.
Customer service is paramount and evolving business relationships is at the top of their priorities. Today’s event was simply a hole-in-one golf competition and it’s gone on for 5hours.
It was supremely well organised and everyone has had a great time.
